Q: WHERE ARE CLASSES HELD?
A: All Classes are held in Springfield VA on Mondays and Alexandria, VA on Wednesdays.
Q: HOW MUCH DO CLASSES COST?
A: The Basic Obedience class is $100 for 8 weeks.
The Subnovice class is $100 for 10 weeks. Additional weeks are pro-rated yearly annual fee.
The competition classes for Beginner Novice, Novice, Open and Utility are $200 for the year.
ALL CLASSES ARE ONE HOUR A WEEK
Q: DO I HAVE TO BE A CLUB MEMBER TO TAKE CLASSES?
A: No. Our basic classes are open to the general public. You do need to register for the basic class. All upper level classes require you to pay the yearly fee.
Q: MY DOG IS REALLY SMART. CAN I SKIP THE BASIC AND MOVE TO A HIGHER LEVEL?
A: No. You must take the Basic class first. Each level of training builds on what you learned in the previous level.
Q: DO YOU OFFER RALLY CLASSES?
A: No we do not have a dedicated rally class. The instructors work on some of the rally signs in the other classes and a few times a year the
upper level classes will offer a rally night.
Q: IF I TAKE TRAINING CLASSES WITH MVDTC AM I A VOTING MEMBER OF THE CLUB?
A: No. Training members are not voting members. Membership requires two voting members and an invitation to join the membership.
Q: I BELONG TO ANOTHER CLUB. CAN I ALSO TAKE CLASSES AND BECOME A MEMBER OF MVDTC?
A: Absolutely.
Q: DOES MVDTC HOLD OBEDIENCE TRIALS?
A: YES. We have our annual trial every October in Point of Rocks MD.
Q: ARE CRATES AVAILABLE FOR USE AT THE TRAINING CLASSES OR AT THE TRIAL?
A: No. You would need to bring your own crate for your dog.
